The first citizen card in China- Hangzhou Citizen card

Hangzhou (2005) will issue 400,000 citizen CARDS. Different from social security CARDS issued in other Chinese cities, Hangzhou citizen card covers a broader range of services, including personal information recording,identification,electronic vouchers,information inquiry,electronic payment and credit payment.The card is issued to Hangzhou citizens who have participated in medical insurance. This card has three major functions, in addition to being able to handle and enjoy the traditional government business represented by social security, it can also be used for the consumption of urban public utilities represented by public transportation.
